Kleo and the Muddy Well

Kleo is a wooden puppet boy made of light brown pine. His painted face has two big round eyes of deep blue. He wears a soft blue knitted hat that looks like a cloud. His arms are slightly crooked because he was carved quickly. One nail on his left thumb is always missing. He stands no taller than a small garden gnome. He smells like fresh sawdust and cedar wood. Every morning Kleo walks to the sparkling Oasis of Silver Water. The water glows pink and blue under the hot sun. He dips his wooden hands in to wash his sawdust nose. The wind whispers through the palm trees nearby.
